It’s a beautiful day. And I like to wear flowers in my hair. I wish more women would take this up – I get basketfuls of compliments for the habit, and I’d be happy to share the wealth.

In a world of broken dreams, we have a choice – live our lives in beauty, or sit in the ashes.
Beautiful! I tend to only wear flowers in my hair when the kids pick them for me (and they tend to be weeds…).
Hearthie, I thought you might get a laugh out of this –
The other day, I picked up a dress from the op shop, and I was trying it on at home when I realised that the cut wasn’t exactly flattering on my shape.
I asked hubby, “In all honesty, does this dress make me look pregnant?”
He stared at me for a bit with a quizzical expression on his face, “Well… um… it kind of does. But… I’m not… sure… how….” *head turned sideways*
“That’s the magic of clothing cuts and proportion!” I said.
Now I just have to figure out if I can alter it to suit, it’s a lovely fabric!
LOL – proportions! FWIW if you can alter where the hem ends and/or work with the waistline, you’ll likely fix the issues. I recommend taking a photo of yourself in the dress and using color boxes to “hem” it visually first.
The problem is that it has some pleats under the bust, but not all the way around. So it flares out right over my tummy but then comes down kind of straight.
You have a lovely, slim figure…. BELT. Maybe an obi belt, or other wide belt?
Thanks, I’ll give it a try!
